60-GHz Compact Vertically Polarized End-Fire Monopole-Based Yagi Antenna-in-Package for Wideband Mobile Communication

In this work, 60-GHz wideband, compact vertically polarized end-fire monopole-based Yagi antenna-in-package is proposed for mobile devices. The antenna was arranged like a monopole array, and the size minimized by utilizing image effect. Advantages of structure include reduction bond-wire loss inserting cavity to make chip same height due For practical use, interconnected with CMOS via interconnect. measured results show 4.99dBi peak gain 3.5dB fluctuation within 60GHz unlicensed band.
